The INSP connects and supports over 100 street paper projects in some 40 countries worldwide, and supports new projects in the developing world, to create employment for homeless people.

Ramsay filmed the INSP Civic Reception 2010, held at the Glasgow City Chambers. The video was edited and encoded for the web, then uploaded to YouTube for the public to view online. See the video below:

Ramsay has volunteered his design services to this great cause from as far back as 2007, designing items such as business cards, email newsletter templates and even logo design for Street News Service, the news agency of the INSP.

The original business cards for the INSP were designed in 2008, but Ramsay recently updated the design and information to include new members of staff, job titles and contact details as you can see below.

INSP Updated Business Card

The team have a number of ‘Chairpeople’ from across the world and were holding a board meeting in their Glasgow office, providing Ramsay with the perfect opportunity to take updated staff photographs, a few of which you can see below.

After working with Ramsay on the various design tasks he carried out with the INSP, Maree Aldam (Network Services Manager) wrote:

I have worked with Ramsay several times, whilst working for 2 different NGOs. He has volunteered his design and photography skills on a number of occasions, in support of our charitable work. He produces work of an incredibly high standard and has managed to fit in voluntary work around a very busy schedule, for which we are very grateful.

Ramsay continues to lend his services to the INSP, in the hope of helping homeless people across the world gain employment and shelter.

John Mcfarlane (no relation) approached Ramsay to create an identity for his new show The Honkys – he required a dynamic online platform to allow the public to view the show and see for themselves the quality of the production.

After completing the branding/identity and website project, Ramsay travelled with ‘Honky John’ twice in 2009, first to New York, then later to Los Angeles.

On the trip to New York, they met with various TV Networks including Comedy Central, MTV and Fox, to pitch for funding to shoot the whole series of The Honkys. They also hosted various screenings of the new Brooklyn-based pilot all across New York, with much of the USA-based cast also in attendance.

The second trip was to the Los Angeles Independent TV Festival, where they attended screenings of the The Honkys and competed for a prize at the festival. Some members of the cast also turned up to show their support.

Below is a trailer of The Honkys for all to see and you can see all the other episodes on The Honkys Website at www.thehonkys.com

The sequence was captured over a period of approximately 18 hours to realistically show the variation in daylight and also display the orange peel’s dramatic shift in form.

The video was inspired by a photograph taken by Ramsay, entitled “OrangePeelSun”.

After the photo was taken, the orange peel was left to dry on the windowsill. What happened when it dried out led to a number of experiments, that eventually led to ‘A Clockwork Orange Peel’ being conceived and filmed.

After the initial concept for both them male and female adverts was conceived, it was then adapted to suit the 4 different sizes of banner: 120×600, 300×250 468×60 and 728×90 (2 of each, one for male and one for female).

There was also a video-editing task to be carried out, where 3 existing clips were to be edited together and placed on a loop. This was then burned to DVD to be played on a display stand at a public exhibition in London.

Victor Brierley (Mr CullenSkink himself, or Managing Director if you prefer) requested that Ramsay design and create the brand and website for CullenSkink to represent his team of unusual creative-type people.

Victor took a hands-on role in the identity development of CullenSkink, writing all the copy and tag lines for the brand (that’s what he does in case you don’t know!) and directing the graphic design process in a let’s say ‘more than your average client’ way.

This resulted in a bold and impressive outcome, that was then applied to the printed material and integrated into the new CullenSkink.com website along with some slick motion graphics .

Unusual name. Unusual people. We’re brand developers and take all the things that are (and some that aren’t yet) accepted in marketing and communications and make them work harder.

Ramsay will be working with the CullenSkink team on new brand and design projects in the future, so keep at least one eye peeled for projects in the near future.

This project involved a partial brand development on the Halifax Security logo; Ramsay developed the symbol into a more modern representation of the original Portcullis concept, but with a more modern ‘Web 2.0′ look.

The project also required that Ramsay create the secondary brand-imagery and write the majority of the copy for the website, which was carried out step-by-step with continual input from the client to keep the technical aspects correct.

Our website was swiftly and professionally constructed. It has more than we had asked for in terms of technical content and was visually very eye catching. All our feedback was dealt with swiftly and without fault. I would have no reservations in recommending Ramsay for his website design.
Andrew Pearson, Owner, Halifax Security

Extensive Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) was carried out on the website both before and after the launch, helping the website’s search engine ranking noticeably in the first few weeks of launch. With the introduction of a Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaign, the site continues to go from strength to strength, attracting more and more localised visitors to the site.

This interactive animation was created by Ramsay while he was studying at Glasgow Caledonian University for his Honours Degree in Applied Graphic Technology. It was created as a solution to the ‘Sequential Imagery Development’ unit.

The character, illustration, animation and sound (except the soundtrack) were all created exclusively for this project.

Ramsay also took the next step in interactive animation while creating this project: Dynamic Interactive Animation. This can be found on the Jimi Hendrix poster on Dave’s wall, where the eyes seem to follow the mouse cursor when moved around.

(Please be patient, it could take quite a while to load… just like Dave himself!)
